Saying Goodbye

SAYING GOODBYE

Saying Goodbye to someone you truly love can be the hardest thing one ever has to do. They know all of your secrets; they’ve become your best friend. My best friend and I always make it a point to say “see you later” because “good-bye” is just so final.

We usually concern ourselves with HOW to do it What about WHY do we do it?

Funny how someone could stay with the person who hurt them the most for years but won’t keep a true love for even a year. Know why? That hurtful love is sneaky, deceitful and manipulative. The hurtful love knows how to play the game and causes your emotions to believe and trust them. The true love feels hurtful because it’s honest and the truth hurts. The true love communicates and sometimes makes you comfort YOU and it’s uncomfortable so you run. The true love pulls on your heart strings and gets in your mind. You get confused and you run. Letting a love go is usually because one person is a runner. Remember, ANY two people who WANT to TRY can make a love work. As soon as one gives it, it sets the stage for the curtain call. Ahhhhhh!! This gets so complicated. I tell you what though, it’s much more simple to simply let simplicity rule. Let the light of your love shine through and free bird inside you fly. When it comes to matters of the heart, be open.

If you’re just too too hurt and you have to walk away:

1) Don’t text your goodbye. Be mature. Give your love that you once shared a common courtesy. Be present for them as you once promised in some heat of some moment!!!!

2) Try not to yell. You may be angry but understand that you’re mostly hurt and you DO/DID love this person

3) Listen- They may have something to say. So many times clarification of a miscommunication can save a relationship. If nothing else listen, you may get the apology or acknowledgement you’ve been yearning for.

4) NEVER FORGET THIS ONE- Learn to love the people and the things that hurt you. This goes hand in hand with forgiveness. I’ve always said that “forgiveness is love, without fear”
