And yes i think that you should've paid for dinner last night because sometimes you have to humble yourself to understand and make peace with others. The entire world is based on us interacting with each other because if we weren't meant to interact and make peace then why are we here???

In my personal opinion...It was nice that you paid for the meal. It shows that you were recognizing that you were late but at the same time, he did set up the meeting and maybe in his mind, he wanted to pay for everything. Depending on the mindset he has, he may have been kool with the fact that you paid it.
